	Al-Balad Meaning: The City (Negeri) Surah Number: 90 = 20 Verses (Revealed at Mecca) ▪ [90:20]

Laa uqsimu bihaadzaa lbalad

[90:1] Nay! I swear by this city.

[90:1] Aku benar-benar bersumpah dengan kota ini (Mekkah),

Wa-anta hillun bihaadzaa lbalad

[90:2] And you shall be made free from obligation in this city --

[90:2] dan kamu (Muhammad) bertempat di kota Mekkah ini,

Wawaalidin wamaa walad

[90:3] And the begetter and whom he begot.

[90:3] dan demi bapak dan anaknya.

Laqad khalaqnaa l-insaana fii kabad

[90:4] Certainly We have created man to be in distress.

[90:4] Sesungguhnya Kami telah menciptakan manusia berada dalam susah payah.

Ayahsabu an lan yaqdira 'alayhi ahad

[90:5] Does he think that no one has power over him?

[90:5] Apakah manusia itu menyangka bahwa sekali-kali tiada seorangpun yang berkuasa atasnya?

Yaquulu ahlaktu maalan lubadaa

[90:6] He shall say: I have wasted much wealth.

[90:6] Dan mengatakan: "Aku telah menghabiskan harta yang banyak".

Ayahsabu an lam yarahu ahad

[90:7] Does he think that no one sees him?

[90:7] Apakah dia menyangka bahwa tiada seorangpun yang melihatnya?

Alam naj'al lahu 'aynayn

[90:8] Have We not given him two eyes,

[90:8] Bukankah Kami telah memberikan kepadanya dua buah mata,

Walisaanan wasyafatayn

[90:9] And a tongue and two lips,

[90:9] lidah dan dua buah bibir.

Wahadaynaahu nnajdayn

[90:10] And pointed out to him the two conspicuous ways?

[90:10] Dan Kami telah menunjukkan kepadanya dua jalan,

Falaa iqtahama l'aqaba

[90:11] But he would not attempt the uphill road,

[90:11] Tetapi dia tiada menempuh jalan yang mendaki lagi sukar.

Wamaa adraaka maa l'aqaba

[90:12] And what will make you comprehend what the uphill road is?

[90:12] Tahukah kamu apakah jalan yang mendaki lagi sukar itu?

Fakku raqaba

[90:13] (It is) the setting free of a slave,

[90:13] (yaitu) melepaskan budak dari perbudakan,

Aw ith'aamun fii yawmin dzii masghaba

[90:14] Or the giving of food in a day of hunger

[90:14] atau memberi makan pada hari kelaparan,

Yatiiman dzaa maqraba

[90:15] To an orphan, having relationship,

[90:15] (kepada) anak yatim yang ada hubungan kerabat,

Aw miskiinan dzaa matraba

[90:16] Or to the poor man lying in the dust.

[90:16] atau kepada orang miskin yang sangat fakir.

Tsumma kaana minalladziina aamanuu watawaasaw bishshabri watawaasaw bilmarhama

[90:17] Then he is of those who believe and charge one another to show patience, and charge one another to show compassion.

[90:17] Dan dia termasuk orang-orang yang beriman dan saling berpesan untuk bersabar dan saling berpesan untuk berkasih sayang.

Ulaa-ika ash-haabu lmaymana

[90:18] These are the people of the right hand.

[90:18] Mereka (orang-orang yang beriman dan saling berpesan itu) adalah golongan kanan.

Walladziina kafaruu bi-aayaatinaa hum ash-haabu lmasy-ama

[90:19] And (as for) those who disbelieve in our communications, they are the people of the left hand.

[90:19] Dan orang-orang yang kafir kepada ayat-ayat Kami, mereka itu adalah golongan kiri.

'alayhim naarun mu/shada

[90:20] On them is fire closed over.

[90:20] Mereka berada dalam neraka yang ditutup rapat.
